Having a pet v/s not having one- Yin v/s Yang

Hello readers! This is Yin back this Sunday with an unusual review, about a situation. I'm sure you must have missed me and had to tolerate Yang all alone. Well, my apologies. I hope I can redeem myself with this. So, this review is going to be about, dogs. I have a nine-month old beagle and I love her so much! But I can't say it's all rosy and nice having her. There are a few things I have to do which I do not wish to. And Yang enjoys not doing all that because he doesn't have a dog. Okay, yes Yang I've heard you. You want a dog but can't get one and that I'm so fortunate to have one. I get it.

Now, coming straight to the situation at hand, I love my dog. There's no denying that. How she runs to me everyday when I get back home from school, how she wakes me up with her soft nudges and licks. All that is definitely worth having a dog. But the other things can't be unnoticed. You have to take them for a walk everyday, change their newspapers (worst part) and sometimes, if you're the only child like me, you might have difficulty in adjusting to a new member who gets all the attention.

But yes it is fun. Yang here may feel bad because he doesn't have a pet with whom he can play catch, or run around the house with. But he doesn't have to clean her poop or her puke (which dogs do very often), neither does he have to take her for a walk early in the morning during winters. As much as you would want to look at only the positives, the negatives cannot be left unseen. Once you get a dog, your holiday life gets limited. You won't be able to take your dog everywhere and wouldn't have the heart to leave her at home, so you also end up staying at home. You need to give her a bath once in two weeks, clip her nails, clean her ears, trim her hair. . . That's a lot of work! But still, being a dog owner, I'd never give my beagle back. She is a part of the family now and I cannot imagine life without her.

Just as any other topic, dogs also have both positives and negatives. It is upto you to choose the good side or the bad side. That's all for now. See you next week with another smashing review from Yang. Until then, this is Yin signing out.

Blood of Olympus - The world is at stake

Apparently, your low life, loveable, inconspicuous and maybe funny writer is back. Yang back into action with Yin in tow! I know, don't hate me now! She was supposed to do this one but apparently your writer girl has called in sick, but she'll be governing and editing my work from her room, say hello Yin. Yeah your phlegm coated hello is very adorable, we'll get you working in no time! Just keep eating the vegetable soup.

To be doing the work now, this review will be on the last book of the series. This will mark the history as the most awesome patch of the biggest arch enemies in mythological history. Between the Greeks and Romans, they will unite, forget their differences and face a common enemy, our Queen dirt face and the god of Porta potty, Gaia. Our two heroes have come back from Tartatus with unpleasant, disturbing and horrifying memories as complimentary package of the tour. The very first scene is Jason, Annebeth and Hazel climbing a mountain so that they can attend a ghost slumber party gone wrong, and gather information for the safest route to take.

They embark on the most adventurous and deathly quest of all, because the World is at stake. They have to face threats as dangerous as always as each and every one of the routes are heavily guarded by Gaia's minions. How do they plan to overcome these dangers? How do they plan on surviving? What has our sweet, vengeful mother earth planned for them? Most important of all, how do they stop Gaia from destroying every civilization ever created on earth? Even the gods?

House of Hades - Hold on to your souls

Yang here! I am excited particularly by this review because the book contains exciting turn of events with many possibilities of death of any or all of our great demigods who are destined to stop the our mother earth who is apparently eternally evil by hating the Olympians. To be honest, hating the Olympians is not a difficult task, they are immortal so they think they are the most superior beings, which gives them the Mount Olympus sized ego in their immortal bodies. They often tend to forget about the minor Gods and treat humans badly and unjustly. You see, it is not fair when you release your wrath upon humans when you did not have low-fat, divine milk for your cereal. Even Hera, (yes, we are getting back to her) it is also not fair if you punish the woman Zeus did some hanky-panky with, also the child has no role to be punished. It was Zeus's holy sperm, blame him. So Gods, we are also praising you, (we don't want to be the bad paparazzi, unlike here on earth, they can do much more from up there, I don't want Hera's holy animal's, cow dung on my shoes every time I go out. Annebeth knows.) but if you could keep the rage up there with you, it would be a delight for everybody, both demigods and mortals alike.

Back to the review, our five demigods are taking a trip to a deadly temple of Hades where people went to call upon the dead so to predict the future or maybe even have a picnic with the dead. Typical underworld stuff. The reason they have to go to that lively temple is that the one end of doors of death are there which are bringing the dead and monsters back to the world. It is guarded by a giant and an evil witch(This is going to be fun).

Now, before all that, our heroes, namely Hazel is graced with the honour of having Hecate the goddess of mist's advise. Hecate enlightens the choices they'll have and the route of the journey to the temple of House of Hades. She tells her that not every thing is yes or no, left or right, wrong or right, you have more than two choices (A valuable thought) Hazel also discovers that her power of summoning metal from underground has much more powerful use. She has to learn to control the mist as the fate of the quest depends on it, without the mist, they will not be able to reach the entrance of the temple alive, let alone go in and close the doors of death

Now, notice how I said five demigods? (Yin, should we tell them? They would have read the book by now right? Yeah, you are right there, what happens in the big T, stays in the big T) My brother and his intelligent, good looking girlfriend (No offence Perce) are stuck in a special, terrifying, and of course a death-dealing place. Where the monsters regenerate after being destroyed and all the rivers of the underworld meet.
A 'good' Titan, who became good because he lost his memory thanks to Percy, helps them to navigate through the terrifying place. This does not stop their every step being harder from the last. They are literally dying in there! Their supplies are almost depleted, they were inflicted with curses, and they have cuts and bruises all over! They barely survive the hell-hole!

Simultaneously, our other demigods are having their own problems up there, they have to get a magical Diocletian's sceptre to help them battle the enemies in the house of Hades. They have to reach there with a dead line hovering around, and when they do they have to go through the underground temple dealing with monsters, traps and ghosts. They have to close the Doors of Death as to stop the horde of dead spilling out. The catch here is that the doors should be closed from the both sides together, they have no communication with the other two whatsoever, they can just pray that they are able to reach there at the same time those two do, so that the doors are reset and transferred to another place, untraceable.

My brother is in mortal danger, I dont have any choice but to wait, the silver lining is that he is with Annebeth. I can't imagine the love he has for her, maybe one day I'll match him on it. But for now, I just have to smear my t-shirt with tears and ice cream. So you can say I am having an internal crisis. *Yin patting me and comforting me* Thank you Yin, I needed someone to do that, you mind if I crouch into a fetal position, you can still pat me. She will come back with a smashing review on the last of series, Blood of Olympus. Bye people and please do read the book, even if it may carry a crisis with it.
